Watami Grill and Sushi Bar now at Greenbelt 2
MANILA, Philippines – Watami’s successful entry into the Bonifacio Global City dining scene has prompted The Bistro Group – the company that imported international chains such as; TGI Fridays and Texas Roadhouse to open yet another branch of the Watami Grill and Sushi Bar. Watami at Greenbelt 2 is positioned along a row of restaurants popular with locals during the evenings as each resto is allocated an al fresco area ideal for a laid back dining experience.
Diners will enjoy the relaxing and refreshing ambiance from the veranda surrounded by the greeneries of the Greenbelt Park, an ideal setting for some grilled meats.
SKEWER RICE BOX
A decent-sized box of steaming Japanese rice topped with 4 grilled Watami skewers and an egg for some design. The skewered chicken balls, chicken liver, chicken thigh and chicken wing all have that grilled flavour that’s really best paired with some beer or if you’re dining during lunch then the complimentary hot or “cold” House Tea is your best option, unless you’re the boss.
Skewer Rice Box (395 PHP)
You can order skewers separately such as the creamy Salmon Skewers (95 PHP) and the flavourful yet fatty Beef Wagyu Skewers (195 PHP) best savoured till it slides down your throat. You have to let the premium taste last longer…
Grilled Salmon Skewer (95 PHP)
Watami introduces the Angel Roll (375 PHP) a shrimp sushi roll topped with Kani strips then sprinkled with black sesame seeds for that extra texture.
The interior may look familiar to you if you remember that this was the former site of Tonkatsu by Terazawa. Other than the storefront signage, the asian and dominant reds look remains the same. The warm and bright welcome appeals to our eyes.
