The Thirty8 restaurant is located on the 38th floor of Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, offering dinners a spectacular view of the Petronas Twin Towers and the ever evolving skyline of Kuala Lumpur.

After our stroll through the city we decided to reward ourselves with a view to remember. We made a last minute decision to dine here instead of the other restaurant that required transport since we were already in Suria KLCC Mall at the base of the Petronas Towers.

Accessible from the ground-level lobby via an express elevator to the sky lobby on the top floor of the hotel. We were greeted with a marvellous view of the towers thanks to the expansive quadruple-height glass curtain wall that feels seamless with the environment. Take the dedicated scenic elevator or walk down the illuminated glass staircase to 38th floor and be greeted by the friendly hostess.

We didn’t have any prior reservations, but we were lucky enough to have a comfy booth table, though not window-side it still had a view of the towers, but we observed that all the tables by the window are round tables good for parties of 8 or more.

Sustainable Alaskan Black Cod was just perfectly made, each bite takes you deeper into the ocean freshness this deep sea fish has to offer. The simple presentation may not excite your sight, but it will surprise you with its taste.

Beef Short Rib on first glance we thought we got the wrong dish, the boneless presentation made it appear to be a steak, but we think this is even better. Each nibble of this slow-cooked beef is just comforting its savoury jus having us order a cup of rice, as the side of mashed potatoes simply won’t do.

If you’re looking for a place to complete your visit in Kuala Lumpur then set yourselves straight to Thirty8, where good food is enjoyed with a grand view.
